Reckitt Indonesia is a multinational FMCG company behind leading brands such as Dettol, Harpic, and Durex. As one of the largest players in its industry, they manage a massive and complex distribution network that spans hundreds of distributors across Indonesia.
Challenges
Reckitt’s massive scale of operations created significant data challenges. Their internal team was “buried” under manual workloads just to consolidate sales data from hundreds of scattered distributors.
Non-Standardized Data
Each distributor submitted sales reports in different formats (Excel, CSV, etc.) without a unified structure, making it impossible to consolidate the data immediately.
Intensive Manual Processes
The internal team was forced to spend hours every day manually cleaning, reformatting, and consolidating hundreds of data files.
Delayed Strategic Reporting
This slow and highly error-prone process directly hindered the delivery of accurate sales reports to headquarters, delaying strategic decision-making.
Solution
Instead of trying to change the systems across hundreds of distributors, we designed and built a custom automated data “translation engine” on the backend specifically for Reckitt.
Intelligent Data Harmonization Engine
We built a custom ETL system that automatically “captures” report files from various sources (Email, FTP), validates, cleans, and transforms them into a single standardized format.
Automated Data Source Integration
The system is configured to automatically ingest data from email attachments and FTP servers on a daily basis. This allows distributors to continue sending reports as usual, without altering their existing workflows at all.
Centralized Data Warehouse Development
All cleaned and standardized data is then loaded into a single Data Warehouse. This establishes a “single source of truth” for national sales data.
Comprehensive and Real-Time System Adoption
We provided intensive, one-month on-site support to ensure that all departments—production, warehouse, and sales—seamlessly adapted to and became comfortable with the new workflow.
